MHS Graduation information for the Class of 2022

Graduation May 21,2022 6:30

Please arrive on time at 4:00 at Gallup mid Basketball court and gym.


Pick up a notecard and write your name with a marker. It needs to be large enough to read and legible


You need your gown, collar and mortar board. No decorations on mortar board.


Sunglasses may be worn. You do not want to be carrying anything except your name card, so you can except your diploma and Mr. Miyamura’s challenge coin.


Nothing on top of gown, which includes corsage, lei’s, or anything else that has not been given out by the school at senior night


We want the ceremony to look important and dignified for your achievement of graduating from high school.


Make sure your shoes are comfortable. Heels are a little slick going up the ramp to the stage.


All spectators will enter the stadium from the Roosevelt parking lot. Only 10 bracelets will be given to each graduate for loved one’s early entry. The bracelets must be worn on their wrist. This includes children age 0 and up, because they will still be given a seat.


After ceremony graduates will be walking out to Gallup mid to pick up their diploma in the Gallup Mid gym and loved ones will walk out the Roosevelt gate unless they are handicap entry.


Reminder Seniors

In order to graduate/receive your diploma, you will need to return all of your tech through your government class starting: Tuesday – May 10th

Wednesday – May 11th / 6-7 pm in Gym 1

The Golden Apple Foundation

The Golden Apple Foundation invites K-12 educators to share this application https://www.goldenapple.org/scholars-new-mexico for the Scholars of New Mexico program with high school seniors who want to teach in New Mexico schools. The Scholars of New Mexico program recruits high school seniors through college sophomores who commit to teaching in New Mexico schools. Scholars receive academic and social-emotional support throughout their education and paid professional development each summer. Participants have hundreds of additional hours with students by the time they become licensed New Mexico teachers. The deadline to apply is May 13.

Join Project Search

Project SEARCH is a one-year school-to-work internship. As part of Gallup McKinley County Schools- Services for Exceptional Students, Project SEARCH prepares young people with significant disabilities for success in integrated, competitive employment.
The individual may use Project Search as high school credit, for more information please contact your students' school counselor for details or call Services for Exceptional Students at 505-721-1800
