To the Students, Staff, Parents and Community,

It is with heartfelt words that I inform you I will be leaving the position of MHS principal and beginning a transitioning to Student Support Center as the Director of Virtual and Career Learning. Although I will miss my school family, I look forward to the challenges of this new position.

Saying goodbye is never easy; however, I have full confidence in the shared vision we have established and the staff’s dedication to the success of each student. I have enjoyed my time at MHS working with staff, families and the community to ensure we are giving our students the skills to succeed in life. The students of MHS are some of nicest and brightest young people I have come to know.

I would like to say a special thank you to the staff I have grown to call family. Your hard work and dedication to our students has moved MHS into the future of Learning Pathways. I will always cherish the time and memories of the staff that is here, the one’s that left for new adventures and the one’s that have passed to a better life.

Thank You,

Jack McFarland

Impact Aid-NM FY 2021

On April 15th GMCS received notification that the State will not be eligible to take credit for Impact Aid in FY21 (current fiscal year). This determination is in response to GMCS’ request for hearing and subsequent filings regarding the State’s submittal in March of 2020. Among other significant issues, the State did not file its request timely to the US Department of Education per federal statute, and their preliminary approval has been revoked by USDOE.
GMCS Board and Administration will continue to work every day to provide necessary resources to assure a quality education for all students.
The State or any adversely impacted LEAs have 60 days to request a hearing related to this ruling.
